Wonderful post, Sylvia. I remember the day the volcano erupted, but learning about it from so far away is nothing like having ash fall all over town.
I guess I figured it affected the people of Washington and perhaps Oregon but it didn't occur to me that people living in Montana would also have ash fall on them.
