Sky Watch Friday!

Time once again to share your beautiful skies! Sky Watch is generously hosted each week by Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy and Louise! Click here to sign up and join us for the fun and the beauty!

We've been seeing some Fall like clouds in Seattle this past week. We've had some rain and moody skies -- their mood seems to match ours on the ground. While Fall is incredibly beautiful here in the northwest, it was a very LONG winter last year and the summer has seemed rather short. But at least we're never lacking for lovely, colorful skies. These were taken, as many of mine are from our deck at different hours during the past few days.

This is what I meant by moody!

A little happier.

And glorious once again!

  17. I didn't realize you were from Seattle; I'm from the other side of the hill in Spokane. Love your beautiful shots. Scrolling down I recognized a lot from the Oregon coast. I've even stood in the same spot on Hwy. 101 to take a picture of Manzanita below.

  19. Lovely shots - I guess you're near the sea so that affects your skies, similarly to the UK since nowhere's all that far from one sea or another. I wish you a peaceful and happy weekend.

  24. Moody is a great word for those skies!
The sunsets are so wonderful... It's the kind of sky that makes me leave my dishes in the sink and run out the front door for a walk!

  32. Thank you for your visit, Sylvia. I like that name - it was my grandmother's.

Like you I do not have any grandchildren - yet. Although I am still working, many of my pleasures seem to align with yours, especially photography and reading but to that I also add music and theatre.

I have you have a joyous weekend.

  36. Love the idea of 'moody skies' ;)

I also like the idea that the sky is a constant blue...and that while the clouds drift in and out... it remains the same...

Much love to you dear friend,

    Always, M

  42. Love the subtlety of the layers and colors. I'd actually choose these over the big blowzy colorful stuff that attracts most photographers. The best thing about looking up is seeing all the variety. Thanks for a nice sendoff to a skywatching (cloudy, stormy here) weekend.
