Sky Watch Friday!

Another week, another marvelous look at skies from all over the world! Sky Watch Friday is hosted each week by Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy and Louise. Click here to sign up and share the beauty of your skies with us!

We've had beautiful weather the past few days, very warm, blue skies. But late in the afternoon on Monday some soft, pastel clouds began to move in and as the evening moved on and the sun dropped lower the colors became more vivid and voila! another beautiful sunset!!

This shot was taken of the same area, just fifteen minutes later. The shape of the clouds were almost identical, just the colors had changed, deepened.

  1. Sylvia! Your skies show the beauty of the setting sun. We are having beautiful weather too but it's so dry that some of my hydrangeas are almost dead. Anyway I hope that we will never experience such a sand storm as they had in Australia.
    Have a great weekend.

  2. Beautiful sunset Sylvia. Our days start out promising but by lunch all h... has broken loose and we are lucky if we can see the horizon by dusk. The usual rule of thumb here is if it is nice in Vancouver/Victoria it will be stormy here.

P.S. I just caught up on your posts...thank you for making my days happy and peaceful.

  4. Love the colors in your setting sun. So romantic.
We have been having some rain with clouds most of the week.
I'm funny, I think, cause I love cloudy rainy days. We lived in California for a time with few rainy days. My oldest son used to wish all the time for rainy days so that he could have an excuse to read. Always music to a mothers ear, to hear your child wish for time to read!
Have a great weekend coming up pal!

  14. Beautiful sunset, but the difference between the first two is amazing - almost identical except for the colours. Presumably a very still, calm evening with no breeze at all.

I'd bring a bottle from Napa if you'd let me watch these lovelies from your deck.
