Weekend Reflections

Weekend Reflections is hosted each weekend by James starting at 11 AM on Friday and if you love shadows you will love reflections. So, click on the icon, sign up and share your reflections with us!

There has been a serious lack of sun here the past week and I had to go back my files to find some reflections for today. The first two were taken at a pool at the zoo. I love the the flamingos who mostly stand around on one leg and their colors are lovely. That particular day they seemed to have Mallard duck for an instructor -- instructor for what, I don't know.

The Flamingo ,
Class of 2010,
in their 0.5 credit
Swimming Class SW1001.
The Sylvian University
with the
strict Mallard
instructors,
asking them
to practice
the compulsory,
one legged,
dives.....

They nudge
each other,
pretend to
scratch,
themselves and
each other....
bending to discuss
their teacher,
looking over the fence
at the horizon...

Maybe its time to
take off,
and glide through
not blue waters
but blue skies,
on their
yearly
pilgrimage across the world,
celebrating
the colors of Nature.....

And more ducks at the sanctuary. Not as colorful but still cute.

  4. I love it. The mallard does look like it put itself in charge.

  5. The flamingo brought back some seriously great memories. I grew up in San Diego and going to the zoo was a big and many times experienced event. The first thing you would see as you entered was the flamingo exhibit.

  6. I liked that mallard instruction and the poem-comment. Very fitting.

Personally, I saw the mallards as rather hopeless aerobics instructor :-)

  7. I love going to your blog to just catch my breath and a sense of peace.

Now off I go to do laundry, packing, more shopping, packing and be ready to board the airplane tomorrow.
