Shadow Shot Sunday!

Attention Shadow Sleuths! It's that time again! So click on the icon, sign up and show us marvelous shadows you have tracked down over the week! This, ever-so-much-fun, meme is hosted by Tracy over at Hey Harriet. So confess your addiction and post your prizes for the week!

I'd first like to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Canada Goose Butt who have settled into the park at the harbor here and have really been enjoying the the sunshine since their trip south. Remember to click on the shots to embiggen! I seem to have a penchant for duck/geese butts these days! Old age??? Why not? I blame everything else on it!

They're a bit camera shy and wouldn't let me get too close, but there were some lovely tree shadows as well. It is so beautiful at the park these days!

A lovely one I found next door!

Drum roll, please! Here is Sir Sam Schnauzer with the new haircut! Yes, I like him better with more hair, but this is his spring/summer cut!

Now, I realize that you guys are probably getting tired of seeing my various colored glass pieces every week, but I noticed something the other day when the sun suddenly poured through the window. When you just look at the vases etc. you see colored glass, plain and simple, but when the sun shines through them that same colored glass suddenly shows amazingly different textures/patterns that I find fascinating. And that's what makes the shadow shots of them such fun! Ah, the joy of simple pleasures! But perhaps you can see here what I'm talking about.

  3. I always enjoy looking at your colored shadows! I see something new in them each time.
As far as the geese- well, they bring to mind a saying a friend always said about someone one who talks too much.
    She would say:
    "Her mouth goes like a bell clapper on a goose's a$$." ;)
    Happy SSS to you Sylvia.

  4. Yes, I do see what you are talking about with the textures and patterns in the colored glass shadows.
Sam looks like he is ready for summer. ;-)

And as for the goose butts, I don't know what to say!!

  7. Our schnauzer always looks ridiculous when he gets his summer hair cut, but it's a necessary evil. I like the colored shadow shots.

  9. I miss my geese from my place in Dayton. Our pond was alive with all sorts of birds and frogs and bunnies.
The colored glass is just beautiful and I double clicked the pictures to see them better.
    They do come alive.
Sam , you never looked more handsome.
    Happy Mother's Day my friend!

  12. Sam leaves an impressive shadow even if shorn. Big shadow, nut never mean...the geese are enjoying the sun, although we stay away from them if they are with eggs or goslings. As always, a great montage!

  15. Looking at the simple beauty of those colored glasses and shadows, it is no wonder why churches spend so much on stained glass windows ;-P

    Happy Mother's Day!

  27. You made me laugh as I went to the barber shop this morning and got my summer cut, (even thoiugh it is unseasonably cool here and we are having April weather in May!)
I always like the colored glass oieces as well. The geese are a nuisance here. They litter the walking paths of the parks and cause my bicycle tires to spin wildly out of control!

    Peace.

  28. I love your coloured glass shots! I love them for the very reason you mentioned - that the shadow is all textured and wonderful! And look at that Sam - mr. Spiffy! What a handsome person he is!

Love the Canadian geese - they are amazing in real life - I always seem to see them on documentaries - and the azalias! Beautiful - and last of all - love your new header! What mountains are they? Are they the Rockies by any chance? Excuse my ignorance if they aren't! Have a lovely week ahead!

  32. I know the Goose Butts' relatives on the East Coast. The goose equivalent of the fingers behind the head shots of human children. Love it.

And I love the light through the colored glass. A lot.
