That's My World!

It's time once again to share some of the many things that make up your world! That's My World is hosted each week by Klaus and the My World team of Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and me. Click on the icon, sign up and show us your world.

The rain and gray skies have returned and it's been difficult to find anything very new to photograph in my world for right now. Have to admit that the gloomy weather has gotten to me this time. I did have a reason to take another look at how much our friends contribute to our lives, to our world. So, forgive the repeats of any photos and enjoy the words about friendship.

The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart. - Elizabeth Foley

If one is estranged from oneself, then one is estranged from others too. If one is out of touch with oneself, then one cannot touch others. - Anne Morrow Lindberg

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?
- George Eliot

A sense of duty is useful in work, but offensive in personal relations. People wish to be liked, not be endured with patient resignation. - Bertrand Russell

True friendship consists not in the multitude of friends, but in their worth and value. - Ben Jonson

Friendship is a sheltering tree. - Samuel Coleridge

  1. Sylvia Dear, I am so sorry for the loss of you friend. When we lose friends, we also loose a lot of our memories that they can no longer remind us of.

    Superb photos and sentiments.

Hugs and good wishes . . .Arija

  9. I love the lavender pix. I planted three lavender this spring and they are doing just as well as your plant is doing. They just make my day each time I see them. I can't wait to make a bouquet of dried lavender.

    Have a lovely week.

  14. Being a mad lover of rain it surely did sound nice to me ;) The tree quote reminded me of the German saying, that "old trees don't allow anything/-one to bend them.". Please have a nice Tuesday.
