Shadow Shot Sunday!

Get out the magnifying glass, get into your best sleuthing clothes and start prowling your environment looking for those wonderful, but sometimes elusive shadows. It does help to have some sunshine! And this week we got a LOT!! I went around blinking in the unaccustomed brightness! But I did blink with camera in hand and, of course, had to play a bit!

This was an anniversary gift many years ago in Spain. It's been packed away for some time, so today I decided to let it have a little sunshine, too!

This is the biggest African Violet I've ever seen! I've had to re-pot it three times this year!

Color and lace!

And my web-footed friend, Sir Daffy Duck!

Enjoy your sunshine and have a lovely weekend!

  2. The blending of sun, shadow and brilliant flowers is such a treat! There isn't one effect of nature that captures our eyes alone but the mix is lovely.

Mr. Daffy sits nicely on the surface, his reflection as stately as he!

  4. These are wonderful! The different "texture" of the shadows are impressive. I especially like the gossamer (if that's the right word) of the rose, and the one of the duck. And my 1st thought also that your African violet is amazing. It gets lots of tender care, I am sure.

    Kisses :-))

  8. Many years ago the Prof made me two copper and brass roses... Your African violet is doing so well and your three glass bottles, hanging on the wall are quite charming.

  23. Wonderful photos, I love the rose so much. My mum has an African violet that I gave her for a mothers day present some 20 or more years ago and with numerous repotting and divisions it is still going strong, still in a pot that lives in the kitchen in winter and on the garden table in summer.
