Shadow Shot Sunday!

Get out the magnifying glass, get into your best sleuthing clothes and start prowling your environment looking for those wonderful, but sometimes elusive shadows. This fun and challenging meme is hosted each week by Tracy over at Hey Harriet! Click on the link under the blog title and sign up to play!!
Today's pictures are a little different from my usual shadow shots, but we had a day of sun!! And several times a week here at my new home, there is a van that takes groups of us to various places around Seattle. Sometimes it's just to a favorite store to do some shopping, sometimes to something scenic, but always something different. Yesterday we went to Bellevue, WA which is about a thirty minute drive from the complex. It was warm, it was sunny and while most of the group headed for the shopping center, I headed across the street to a lovely park and here are some of the shadow shots I found there in this very lovely place! Hope you enjoy them!
We do not see nature with our eyes, but with our understandings and our hearts.

David Herbert Lawrence

The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do.

  9. With outdoor shadows under the un-Seattle like sun, the shopping can wait! The urban landscape here is like a tree-lined oasis, full of trees and an unsuspecting crow. Shadows as landscape is wonderful!

  11. I'm happy that you're happy in your new home. it seems a wonderful spot for you. your spring there is looking similar in progress to ours here, it's coming along slowly. I think that's alright, because it seems to last longer this way. beautiful shadow shots Sylvia. have a wonderful weekend!

  14. I would have joined you in soaking up the sun. Shopping centers holds no allure for me, if I can't find it on the internet I don't need it.

  15. You made the most of your outing. Give me a camera and a park any day over a mall. It looks like your area is a few weeks behind us. Our trees our pretty much fully leafed out by now.

  16. Yours are always the definitive shadow shots, Sylvia.
    I love the Galileo quotation. Just love it!

    WONDERFUL NONSENSE

    A shadow’s a wonderful thing;
    O listen! Can you hear it sing?
    It tells of a time
    Before there was crime—
    Trust that and you’ll trust anything!

  24. What a lovely park for walking, observing people, and taking photos... The perfectly manicured lawn creates the perfect canvas for shadows. They are all wonderful but the first shot with the lace shadows created from the not-yet-leaved limbs is my favorite! Have a great weekend!
