That's My World!

That's My World is hosted each week by Klaus and the My World team, Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and me. Join us and share your world with others from all over Our World! Just click on the post title, read the rules, sign up and play with us! So! How is your world this week? Have you taken time to see the beauty there? What is it about your world that makes you smile or laugh or feel grateful for? We've had some sun, some beautiful clouds and skies and every day I get more excited about the view from my new home! So, I'll share a few more shots of those views today!  The view was so beautiful yesterday I raised the blinds as far as they would go! It was like being on top of the world! Then just down the hall from my apartment we have our own deck and furniture and views!! The last shot was a sudden fiery sunset from my rain-spattered windows! Are these great or what!!!

To cherish what remains of the Earth and to foster its renewal is our only legitimate hope of survival.
Wendell Berry

Don't find fault, find a remedy.
Henry Ford

I think that people want peace so much that one of these days government had better get out of their way and let them have it.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it.
Eleanor Roosevelt

The Last Sun Show

It is all in the mind. You can start
a new exciting life
with the 'girls",
when all
about you
are cribbing
about clearing snow
from the driveway,
and loud music
at the neighbor's....

You think
you've had it
with the harbour
and now's the time
to conquer
snowy peaks
glistening in the Sun....

Life windows
are so wide and tall,
The air so fresh up there,
the colors in the flowers
put rainbows to shame,
and
the Sun

has just one question ....

This lady,
keeps creating
such wonderful shadows
by keeping things in my path,
and even when
I am doing my thing
behind the pines,
celebrating my "setting",
how come,
her photos
make it look,
like she is
showing
a beautiful sunrise?

Because ,
every day,
is a new day
to explore and enjoy
her new place....

Like I said,
it's all in the mind....

  4. How nice to be able to see over the tops of trees.
As for peace, I'm beginning to think man is incapable of living in peace. Too many of us claim to follow the man of peace but listen to those preaching hate and war.

  11. Thank you for these pictures! It's been really gloomy and dark today here in my world-- thunderstorm and gusty wind I can hear even when I'm inside. Your sky captures that are bright and blue give me hope! The first picture-- it seems like I have the same capture. :)

I have My Mothering World to share, I hope to see you at my page! :)

  12. Peace is elusive, I fear. Too many people out there enjoy fostering hate. Why, I don't know.

    Love your beautiful Seattle skies!

  17. Your new abode is definitely feast for the soul, Sylvia! How wonderful that you wake to this every morning. Your windows frame a fresh and rearranged horizon each day. It is never dull no matter what the weather.

  22. Your new world is absolutely beautiful. Fantastic views...and a little deck/porch to beat. You all are so lucky to have found such a special spot.I know you are loving it.

  23. I love these quotations, Sylvia, especially the Wendell Berry quote. If we don't follow this recommendation, humanity is doomed to follow so many other species into extinction.
On a less morbidly serious level, I also love the views from your new home, and your cloud photos are delightful.

  24. You are so blessed to be able to see these fabulous skies from your room, even when working at PC. I'll never get tired of looking at ever-changing colors and formation of the clouds. Raindrops when the sun is shining tells you something nice is happening: so is believed in Japan. Have a nice week.

  31. Hi Sylvia, they look great. Looks like they are taken the same time as your previous post. It really is wonderful to be viewing such wonderful skies, and i realized that no two sunsets are the same. They change everyday. My 5th Floor Window is getting famous to my friends because of my sunset photos which i normally post in Skywatch Friday. thanks.
