Weekend Reflections

Weekend Reflections is hosted by James each week beginning Friday at 11 AM Eastern Standard Time. It's another wonderful way of opening your eyes to new and different kinds of beauty. Click on the web address under the blog title and sign up to play with us!

Summer was late in coming, but we have had such beautiful weather the past week! And wouldn't you know? As soon as it reached 80 degrees everyone around here started complaining about the heat!! Ah, we humans are never satisfied!!  Wishing you all a beautiful weekend, safe from hurricanes and tornadoes, forest fires and flooding!!! It has been a year for it all!!

  3. Reading Mark Twain's words makes me realize that Washington, D.C. hasn't changed a whole lot over the years. :)

  5. Complaining about the heat at 80 degrees? We had a cool front today, it's only 101!

I love the shot with the fish.

  8. How striking, this new header! A fitting tribute to Klaus! But complain about heat at 80F? Why that is downright COOL here! But whatever the temps your way, Sylvia, stay safe from Mother Nature's temper. We're expecting yet another typhoon to come close to us... sigh, it's a long weekend here, but no use going to the beach now.

  11. Beautiful as always. But the last picture took my breath away! It's not only just the reflection but the shadows, especially of the red vase, are fascinating!

Love that last reflection with the red coloring the artful fish. You also found some really stunning skies for sky watch. Happy weekend Sylvia.

  14. The first one is very tricky, Sylvia : it looks like a windows cause we seem to be able to see through it things behind but those lines in the picture which are supposed to define the amounts of the window feel so strange...

I just love the red shadow in the last one.

  20. Wonderful shots - I love the alligator-like log! I'm glad to hear that you're finally getting good weather - summer here isn't going away. Normally we're cooling off by this time of year, and it's not unusual to see our first frost in the next three weeks. But not so far this year!

  29. Hope you are not on the path of Irene...we are told that it has been demoted to category 1 but it sounds still pretty horrendous taking into consideration that some districts of NY have been evacuated.
    Take care, DeeBee
