Shadow Shot Sunday!

Get out the magnifying glass, get into your best sleuthing clothes and start prowling your environment looking for those wonderful, but sometimes elusive shadows. This fun and challenging meme is hosted each week by Tracy over at Hey Harriet! Click on the link under the blog title and sign up to play!!

It took summer a LONG time to get here, but it has been beautiful these past couple of weeks and I have enjoyed the sun, the flowers, beautiful skies etc. etc. etc.  Hope all of you are staying safe from the bad weather and that you and your families are safe and well as we look back at the horror of 9/11 -- so hard to believe it has already been ten years since that nightmare of a day! And that if for no other reason made me want to focus on the beauty!

Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.

  4. I feel like writing an ode to that beady-eyed pigeon! How did you get so close to it?

    BITS OF SHADOW

    Bits of shadow and blasts of light,
    Morning and evening, noon and night;

    Days of darkness, gloomy and drear;
    Sometimes bright ones, bringing good cheer;

    Spring or winter, summer or fall,
    Light or shadow—embrace them all!

  7. Lovely collage and I like the idea of focusing on what is beautiful. That's pretty much all we can do -- that and hope that everyone else is doing that as well.

  13. The sun has risen over the Puget, and you have taken full advantage of it! Flowers and digging dogs show the days are still nice...I am not a fan of pigeons so much, but the alert look an sharp eye makes this guy look almost intellectual - if one can use tis term with any bird :)

  14. It is useless to immerse oneself in a horror that has passed, no matter how gruesome. That way we only keep it alive and ever present. Better to be grateful for what we have and to hope for peace but still remember.
