I've been waiting to get a new battery for my camera and waiting for some sunshine, so it's been back to the files. I had to laugh when I found the second shot -- it's about the busiest shadow shot I've ever seen and I don't know how got so many in only one shot! Not the best quality, but fun! Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!! Enjoy!
A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song. Lou Holtz
If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it. Margaret Fuller
If your ship doesn't come in, swim out to it. Jonathan Winters
Sylvia....love the shadow of the glass with the reflection of your Christmas cactus in it ~ it is BEAUTIFUL! However, we are laughing at your first shadow, because I was hunting for quotes yesterday and read this one for Karrie:
"The other day when I was walking through the woods, I saw a rabbit standing in front of a candle making shadows of people on a tree." ~Stephen Wright
Isn't that funny, then you went ahead and put that picture on...you made us smile :)
Maybe the girls should put that one on their shadow quote page!!
That funny picture with the shadow of the hand, the third is my favorite, beautiful. I like, very evocative and wildly creative. Greetings and happy weekend.
Such striking shadows - especially in the first and last photos! Love the sense of abstract in the first photo and the beautiful mellow shadow light in the last one!
You have a good excuse for searching your shadow archives. And your shadow archives are so good, I'm glad you had to do it. (But I do wish you some sunshine .. it's time!)
the last shadow...strong and warm. yeah...can't believe this snowfall. non all winter then bam!!! thing is tho, next week is suppose to be in the 50's...can you say flooding. but again...it's all about perspective!!
have a blessed weekend sylvia...always enjoy your comments when you stop by!!
I sure am glad you have your files to share with us. I really like your second photo. It looks like a double exposure, but I don't know how you could do that with a digital camera. In any case, it is really neat.
You know I always admire your glass shots, and you've really outdone yourself with that second one! The simple black shape in the first is a nice contrast.
well Ms. Sylvia, you did a fine job on all of these photos. That second one is very busy, but I find myself looking at a lot of different things. Many shadows and reflections and shadows of reflections! Nice job!
Sylvia I love the Jonathon Winters quote ! .. is that a huge Christmas cactus reflected in the window ? it is enormous and covered in buds ! My poor sickly one is doing nothing ;-( Your shadows are fun and very atmospheric ! Joy
My favorite is still the lacy curtain shadows on the warm coloured wall. I hope you are enjoying your weekend Sylvia, we have a long weekend in Perth so tomorrow is a holiday too, yaaaay! Reading in bed when you don't have to get up early, love it!!
The Holtz quote is one of those interesting quotes that seems profound but I have no idea what it means. A light goes on not to cast light but because someone flicked the switch.
I do so appreciate and enjoy your comments! Always wonderful to get feedback! The interaction with other bloggers has been one of the most rewarding things about blogging!
LOVE the Lou Holtz quote, Sylvia! Your glass is so pretty in the sunlight.

ReplyDeleteLife and people can be alot like your shadow shots. Real but not always transparent. Hiding but still can be seen.
ReplyDeleteI especially like you last quote Sylvia. Many boats we would never catch if we didn't even make an effort.
