Man and His Best Friend Ever!

I have a very dear friend who looks for and saves wonderful pictures and words to share with me and I do frequently share them with you. And today I’m sharing another collection of those. They are ones that I’m sure will move all of you as much as they did me. I do hope you enjoy them as well – I know that they did move me to smiles and tears. These are of our soldiers and their wonderful four-legged friends!! Get your handkerchiefs!

    When I was teaching American history, I brought in a dog handler (with dog) from Vietnam to tell the kids the story of the dogs in Vietnam. His dog was a descendant of that dog. 2900 dogs served in Vietnam and many were killed. They were indispensable in many situations and great companions.

    Service dogs are remarkable. I saw a news story a few days ago about a police dog that attacked the bad guy and took the bullet intended for its master. The handler and his family were torn up about it. Very poignant.
