What matters is not the idea a man holds, but the depth at which he holds it. ~Ezra Pound
Reading without reflecting is like eating without digesting. ~Edmund Burke
You can't depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus. ~Mark Twain
Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if..." And then do it. ~Duane Michals, "More Joy of Photography"

I liiked the Thoreau quote but would add "it's what you do about it, that matters. I wear often a Thoreau t-shirt I bought at Walden Pond two yrs ago, quite the place to think, but boy times have change. I think there is a traffic light between his spot on the pond and his folks house!
ReplyDeleteWouldn´t it be interesting to jump off that high building? It probably would be, but it would last only 10 seconds so I won´t do it. Sorry!:-)
ReplyDeleteNice post - beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteThe rose...I love the rose. And always Thoreau.
ReplyDeleteAll of these quotes and photos are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI think a part of us is having fun experiencing life even if we happen to be suffering. To just feel something in general seems to be a goal in life.
Its so fun to go deeper and deeper as we become more comfortable exploring new perspectives and ways of seeing the same event.
If we repress that which we experience, we are refusing to see ourselves in the mirror.
Mark Twain Rings a High Bell.
If something attracts our attention in the slightest, then we owe it to Life to communicate with it. The urge was a telepathic message in its self.
We can certainly see ourselves whereever we place our attention towards.
But we can learn to resserect the poet to a state of living again too. There are two sides to the coin.
Wow these are incredible Sylvia, I am in awe.
ReplyDeleteAll the best
