MicroFiction Monday

The police had called off the search as the fog thickened. We stayed, staring at
the bridge where we had seen her last. Why? Only silence.

We told them not to leave this gap. Now the drunk guy has driven straight through into the water; he thought it's a shortcut to the bridge.
