Shadow Shot Sunday!

Get out the magnifying glass, get into your best sleuthing clothes and start prowling your environment looking for those wonderful, but sometimes elusive shadows. This fun and challenging meme is hosted each week by Tracy over at Hey Harriet! Click on the link under the blog title and sign up to play!! And, yes, more RAIN!! I did try to find some sunny pics, but it's getting harder every week. However, you will see how desperate I've become when you look at the pic in the upper left hand corner -- I sat in front of the Christmas Cactus and raised my glass!! How do you like my new hairdo??? Well, it's either that or a drunk cactus!

  1. Great shadows, Sylvia, and a fun idea raising the glass! I love the wrought iron pattern. I can live with the cold, but too much clouds would be difficult for me - I need to see the sun regularly. I hope you're having a great weekend so far!

  5. The geese seem determined to emerge from the shadows into that spot of sun!

    SILLY SHADOW DITTY

Shadows may or may not be
    Patterns of urbanity.
    If a shadow threatens you,
Here, my dear, is what to do:
Grab the shadow by the throat,
Toss it to a billy goat,
So the goat can chomp and chew,
    Keeping it away from you!

  12. You certainly show a great deal of ingenuity for getting shadow pictures during rainy weather. I'm very impressed with your raised glass photo. I also really like the photo in the upper right.
Have a wonderful (and hopefully sunny) weekend.

  15. Sylvia, Love your collage of "shadow" photos! I, too, am a teacher--taught first grade for several years, and the last 10 I have been teaching Preschool (which has been great fun). You sound like an interesting and active lady who makes good use of her time by working on many creative things. I'll be back to your blog.

  25. Sorry it has been so rainy. You are the Queen of Shadows (in a good way). I had to study on the new hairdo photo. You are getting quite daring in your styling. Perhaps if I had some hair I could be daring also. I've threatened to do the world's most elaborate comb over but Heather is not taking the bait.

I love the warm summery shots. They'll be here in a few months.

  26. Hi Syliva....I can't remember the last time I was here to say Hello, admire your photography and leave a comment. It's been way to long...I know that. First let me say that your shadow shots are fantastic as always...especially like the Trivet Shadow and the Raising of the Glass....very dexterious to balance the glass with one hand and shoot with the other!

I've been back in OUR HOMETOWN quite alot during January. My brother and I moved our Mom and Sister back there from Midland. It was quite a Big Deal with the weather being so cold, and having to set up her Double Wide in a new place. I'll be going there more often now that she is there, and I hope to take some photos of the New High School. Drove by there a few times and it really is looking nice. They kept the old gym and the auditorium and shere the rest of the HS was will now be a tree lined drive way and nice Front Entrance!

Hope you are staying warm with the extreme weather...I bet you are used to it, though! Here in Texas we are sure a bunch of babies when it comes to the cold! We aren't use to having to kick a hole in the air to get outside! LOL!
    See you again soon!
