And here is my favorite pissed off  sea gull!   His expression and huddled body looked just like me this morning!! But don't tell him I said that -- he'd be really pissed off then! Who wants to think they look like some shivering, old broad????

    Lovely images as always, Sylvia and great quotes. I'm not too sure about the Chekhov, though. Thinking of the folks in Christchurch I think many will rise to the challenge they face and others will be overwhelmed. I recall the varied reactions of friends and family to the Northridge earthquake, some took events in stride and others were traumatized almost to the point of inaction.

    The gull does look pissed off. Great shot. All of these photographs from your world are delightful. I love the quote about crisis and day to day life. That's been my experience. I do much better in a crisis than I do day to day.

    Great captures, Sylvia … some photos of warmer times bring back fond memories of spring that I thought was just around the corner, until this latest snowfall! I think the seagull might be huddled for warmth and in shock over what he hopes is the last blast of winter. I think he’s had enough. :)

    Sucked in and giggling like an idiot, oops, sorry Anton! Your quotes full of whizzdom and then the seagull crap! At least now I know what you look like!

    Calm seas, sunshine and a nice bench to sit on, rhododendrons in full and glorious bloom . . . by your thumbnail you tricked me into believing you were really 'livin' the life' but no such luck, just a shiverin' ol' seagull!

    If I strewed those rhododendron blossoms on th esnow for you, would if help to tide you over?

    In here, summer is just around the corner, the mercury started to rise again. Wish we could have some snow *wish*. Sure I will not be pissed off like the seagull hahaha.

    Those are peppers at a store in Pike's Market. They display them like that and some people buy them just to decorate their kitchens. They are beautiful and very colorful! Thanks for stopping by, as always!

    Among all the nice photos, I especially like the photos of a deserted beach of off-season and the sea gull in the last. I think I remember the punchy colors of peppers when they were zoomed in. Now I understand how they were hang at the shop. (If they are the same peppers.)

    I do think that the gull looks less than happy!

    I personally think there's nothing wrong with looking like an old broad, shivering or otherwise. To prove it, I look like that everyday.
