This shot and the next two were taken on the usual gray day at the Arboretum, but these old, twisted trunks were so interesting to me. I look forward to going back once the sun returns and sit for a while and enjoy the beauty -- the sun will return won't it????? 

Her neck
wiry translucent
with
the lines
of a golden age,
light
wisps of
baby leaved twigs
falling
across her crown,
in anticipation
of an imminent spring,
she reaches out
to the
different
young branches
off
her life.

A touch here,
a call there,
a smiling email,
and
she brushes
a light hand
across her neck,
as she gets up.

Although
she thinks
she is moving
elsewhere
she still
remains
anchored
firmly,
below
to
the same land
with the same memories .
