Shadow Shot Sunday!

Shadow Shot Sunday #2 - Magical Mystical Teacher + Chubskulit + Gemma Wiseman

To succeed in life, you need two things: ignorance and confidence.
Mark Twain

What a man misses mostly in heaven is company.
Mark Twain

As a young boy, I didn't know a Republican from a Democrat, only in one way:
If some man or bunch of men rode up to the ranch to sit or stay all night,
and my Father set me to watching 'em all the time they was there -- what
they did and what they carried off -- I learned they were Republicans.

  1. What a great shot of the otter standing upright Sylvia, is it in a park situation or a zoo? They can be quite tall when they stand up too I see. I loved the shot of your son having fun with Mojo, simple pleasure are the best, sounds like a day you spent together. I must admit I don't get my son all to myself very much these days but when I do it's the best!

  4. The otter gets our attention as he stands at full height...the other water creatures, the ducks, are swimming and standing at peace, the pond their place of labor and leisure. The outdoor furniture is lovely in both subject and shadow. All very nice!

  5. In my very much younger days (at school, in fact) I once wrote an essay about Mark Twain. Seeing your quotations showed me that at least once in my life I did something worth while.

    Keep them coming! :-)

  13. Where does that otter live? What a great capture!

And, (I have to duck after I ask this! LOL!), what's wrong with being a Republican?

    : )

Is it kinda like that song from "Oklahoma" oh....the farmer and the cowboys can't be friends"?

OK, I shouldn't have stirred the pot...taking a deep breath as I hit the 'publish' button!

  20. Brilliant greens~ beautiful shadows ~ superb reflections. You have a way of getting the best shots. The last time I was out there I was not the “OCD camera buff” I am now, so heaven only knows what I will be up to. Tickets are so high. There will be 6 of us flying out...my poor son...he is going to have a house and a barn full. And, now Buddy is talking about climbing Mt. Hood. UGHHHHH! Vermont for a month was one things but Mt. Hood scares me to death. Hope he changes his mind. genie

  26. Well, Sylvia, you've just proven something I wouldn't have guessed. I didn't think you could post a photo I'd love more than your duck-and-turtle pictures, but this otter is SO wonderful, and reflected in the water, too. I am amazed. Of course I will always look forward to duck-and-turtle portraits, but I love the otter best.
    Sigh.
Love Mark Twain and Will Rogers, too.

  27. My cousin just shared this, he bought a terapin the day his daughter was bonr, 5 year ago. It had significance for them, and it was sick. They took it ot the vet, and it died. When I see your turtle photos, I remember the Chinese saying the turtle doesn't die for 1000 years.
