How About a Laugh to Start the Day???

Sometimes you are encouraged about the future when you see something like this:  Yep, the truth is out!!

Specifically, there is an annual contest at the University of Arkansas calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.

This year's term was:  "Political Correctness."
The winner wrote:    "Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end. "
You know why a banana is like a politician? When he first comes in he is green, then he turns yellow and then he's rotten..

I think Congressmen should wear uniforms like NASCAR drivers so we could identify their corporate sponsors!

An old one, but unfortunately, still SO true!!

And I've been naughty for the day and somehow that feels really good!!!

Let's Go Shopping at My Favorite Mall!!!

We either make ourselves happy or miserable. The amount of work is the same.--Carlos Castaneda

I'm not a shopper -- actually hate shopping, but the mall is colorful and fun and has a couple of great restaurants -- I don't shop, but I do eat --oh, yes, and I do love the two great book stores they have there!! You did know, of course, that going to a book store is not considered shopping, didn't you?? It's called Mall Research!!

Remembering Chihuly's Art in Seattle

I wanted to share (again) these pics of the artist Chihuly whose work was on display in Seattle a year ago.

If  you ever have an opportunity to see any of his work, it is amazing!
I'm glad I was able to see it and take the shots that I did!

One Quiet Moment

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.

What a Difference a Week Makes!!! Happy Sunday!!

This was Saturday a week ago here in Portland!
This was yesterday here in Portland!!  Both shots were taken at my apartment complex!!  Those white flecks on the side of the building are snowflakes! BIG snowflakes!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
