John Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6 am ..  While his coffeepot  (MADE IN CHINA)  was perking, he shaved with his  electric razor  (MADE IN HONG KONG)  He put on a  dress shirt  (MADE IN SRI LANKA),  designer jeans  (MADE IN SINGAPORE)  and  tennis shoes  (MADE IN KOREA)  After cooking his breakfast in his new  electric skillet  (MADE IN INDIA)  he sat down with his  calculator  (MADE IN MEXICO)  to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch  (MADE IN TAIWAN )  to the radio  (MADE IN INDIA )  he got in his car  (MADE IN GERMANY )  filled it with GAS  (from Saudi Arabia )  and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.  At the end of yet another discouraging  and fruitless day  checking his  Computer  ( made in MALAYSIA ),  John decided to relax for a while.  He put on his sandals  (MADE IN BRAZIL ),  poured himself a glass of wine  (MADE IN FRANCE )  and turned on his TV  (MADE IN INDONESIA ),  and then wondered why he can't  find a good paying job  in AMERICA

Our weather really hasn't been too bad, not much sun, but not particularly cold -- not as inviting as our very brief summer, but not bad. So, I decided to focus today on the real beauty of autumn here in the northwest -- the wonderful colors and, of course, the delicious veggies at my favorite market! We've had quite a variety of skies this week as summer moved out and fall stepped in! Once again I've spent a lot of time on the roof enjoying the flowers and the skies, the colors, the cloud formations and sunsets. These are the skies I want to share with you today. One in particular -- the next to last photo -- it looked to me as though the trees were cupped palms holding up the setting sun.  It did take my breath away!

The Importance of Correct Spelling and Your Laugh for the Day!

A young monk arrives at the monastery.

He is assigned to helping the other monks

in copying the old canons and laws of the

church by hand.

He notices, however, that all of the monks

are copying from copies, not from the original

manuscript. So, the new monk goes to the

head abbot to question this, pointing out that

if someone made even a small error in the first

copy, it would never be picked up! In fact, that

error would be continued in all of the subsequent

copies.

The head monk, says, 'We have been copying

from the copies for centuries, but you make

a good point, my son.'

He goes down into the dark caves underneath

the monastery where the original manuscripts

are held as archives in a locked vault that hasn't

been opened for hundreds of years. Hours go

by and nobody sees the old abbot. 

So, the young monk gets worried and goes down

to look for him. He sees him banging his head

against the wall and wailing.

"We missed the R !

His forehead is all bruised and he is

crying uncontrollably. The young monk

asks the old abbot, 'What's wrong, father?'

With a choking voice, the old abbot replies,
