We Did It!!

We did indeed inspire the eagle to scream with joy and I know that all of you feel the same excitement and gratitude and amazement that I do at this moment. The whole world has been watching and they are as excited as we are. This is an unbelievable night in our history. Now, let's help Barack Obama make the most of his time in office, for each of us, for our country, for the world.

Yes, Sylvia, we did it! And you, like Dianne and Gina and many others were instrumental in getting it done. You worked hard at it. Thank you.

This has been a great education for someone like me from thousands of miles away; watching the issues being discussed threadbare on blogs, ladies very passionate about issues, writing succintly and exhorting folks to vote for Obama; what a great ending to a great story. May this be a great start of a great Presidency.

My family, Bob Scott and Jerod, stayed up and watch the entire evening. My grandson, as well as the rest of us was so excited! I have high hopes for this administration.

I'm happy too but we need to reach out gently and with love for the other half of our nation that voted for McCain to bring unity. I remember 4 years ago when bush was elected my dg-in=law who didn't vote for him was upset and didn't feel like going on as her disappointment was so great. So let's take a moment to listen to our friends who voted differently and quietly share our hope for a better future.

Wonderful night. I had the box of kleenex right beside me on the couch! And I totally agree with comments from "lin" - about the need to reach out and include those who voted the other way.

Lin is so right about reaching out, and I do not know how some of the divisions will heal. I visited an elder blog with a different ideology; offered what I thought was a gentle suggestion for an alternative view; and I was scorned and mocked. One of my adult students turned in a essay stating that people voting for Obama are deluded by devils and sin. Healing is a tough game when the alternative ideology is not willing.

I have never been happier about an outcome of an election. We woke this morning as the day dawned on a changed world. We are elated.

I'm not a US citizen yet, but I was thrilled by Obama's victory, too. My husband and his parents voted for him. :)

The future of our country just changed from dark to light. Hope and help is on the way. We all must do what we can to make the dreams of Obama a reality. They are our dreams too.

The U.S. has renewed hope in the future with the election of a new president. We have lots of work ahead, but have earned the right to celebrate a while longer.

It was an exciting night. I hope that those who are disappointed will take some time to see what happens next. Our country has been misled and it's cost us dearly. A new day has dawned. It might take awhile for all to see that it will be good for us all

we did it, we did it, yeah, yeah we did it (This is how dora and her monkey boots dance in a nick jr cartoon show once they solve a problem from the show Dora the Explorer - but then you have probably never seen that show :)

Amen! I stayed up … what an amazing night it was! This morning I’m filled with hope for the future and I’m fully aware how challenging the next few years will be for Obama and all of us. Yes we can ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

The alternative ideology gave an incredibly moving and unifying concession speech last night. There is no righteous, and no evil party. Just differing perceptions and vantage points all trying to lead us to the same good place. No one wants to undermine America and her people for crying out loud!

Let's follow Obama's words... let's think as American's first, last and always and stop the fingerpointing. What is the expression... don't point a finger, lend a hand. Okay... let's lend Obama a hand. Let's be the kinder, gentler nation he promises. Only WE can make his promise of unity come true.

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
