What a Way to Start the New Year!

First of all the bad weather here forced my son and daughter to have to cancel their trip here for Christmas -- Adam and I will be eating a LOT of turkey over the next week! They're planning now on being here for Mother's Day so I'll start crossing my fingers right away!

Secondly, my computer seems to have acquired a virus and it is a real pain to try and do anything. So, today -- if they're open! I'll be taking it in to get fixed. Of course this means I may be without a computer for several days -- hopefully, no longer, but then my luck hasn't been the best lately!

I've prepared a Ruby Tuesday to post automatically and if I can get the computer's cooperation, I hope to do a My World post as well -- we'll see.

So, until then I hope you're getting ready to welcome the New Year!

Sylvia, I am so sorry that your children couldnt travel to be with you for Christmas. I was thinking of you. I am sure they were just as disappointed too. Ah well, when is Mothers Day? Is it May there?

Looks like its Turkey for some time to come.

It is a concern about these viruses because I have seen lots of bloggers reporting the same thing. I hope they get it fixed and return your computer to you very soon. While they have your computer you still can take lots of pics to share with us later.

Have a good weekend.

I hope you are running a free virus prevention program like Avast or AVG. I have downloaded and had both of them at one time or another on different computers and they catch any virus or Trojan that has come my way.

We were supposed to have some family over from Toronto, but their trip is cancelled because of bad weather as well. But that's ok - we will meet at a later date under warmer, better weather.

Hope to hear from you before the new year starts - if not - then Happy New Year!!!!

Sorry that your kids couldn't make it up for Christmas, sylvia. At least there probably won't be snow on Mother's Day, right? I hope your computer will up and running soon.

Good luck on getting your computer up and running again. There are so many sites that put out junk that surfing the internet or even opening emails becomes risky without the top virus checker and sometimes even then with new things popping up constantly.

Sorry to learn of your computer issues. I've got a few of my own and need to stay home long enough to call Dell because the new laptop keeps crashing in the middle of things ... giving me the dreaded BLUE SCREEN with the scary message. Hope you get your fixed quickly.

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
