After an almost balmy January and February and all the spring flowers and flowering trees blossoming out a good month to six weeks early, March rolled in with dark, heavy skies, lots of rain and some of the coldest temps of the winter. Sunshine and shadows?? Forget about it!! So, I had go looking for some old ones!

Hopefully when April rolls around our deck will look like this again!

Examine the Myths

As I got more and more involved in photography and the whole political/economy scene was becoming more and more heated, less and less productive, I took all mention or discussion of them off my blog simply because I didn't want to fight with anyone and because it was taking away the joy I found in blogging. But today for the first time in well over a year I read an article that confirmed what I've been wanting to believe, but was afraid I was just being Ms Pie-in-the-Sky as I've frequently been called. The article is by a favorite of mine, Paul Krugman, New York Times Op-Ed columnist, and while I'm not going to discuss it here, I would like to recommend it to those of you who perhaps have some of the same fears and misgivings that I have had.
And now I shall take up my camera and return to the skies and all the beauty there is to enjoy!

Maxine on the Job!

My 1 day Employment

So after landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter,
A good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day....

About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.
I said pleasantly, 'Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?'
The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say,
'Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7.
Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, Or stupid?'
So I replied,
'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am, I Just couldn't believe someone slept
with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.'

My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work.

Okay, here's the deal. Mojo has been acting really down and sad the past few days and I couldn't figure out why! I mean her Dad doesn't travel that much any more and has more time to play with her. But when I tried to get her to talk all she would say is, "I'm getting old and my leg joints hurt and Dad is making me take some yucky pills that's supposed to make them better. And I have another birthday coming up next month!!"



You can see how down she looks! So here's what I'd like you to do.



When you get a chance swing by and tell her how cute she is and that she's looking younger every day! I'm hoping that way she'll quit worrying about getting old! Jeez! I'm older than she is anyway!! And look how happy I am!!
