Evening Words, Wisdom and Beauty

Friendship is always a sweet responsibility, never an opportunity.
Kahlil Gibran

Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need.
Kahlil Gibran

When we blindly adopt a religion, a political system, a literary dogma, we become automatons. We cease to grow.
Anais Nin

When you make a world tolerable for yourself, you make a world tolerable for others.

I am amazed at how your photograph echoes the artwork of my friend, Margaret, about which I wrote a poem last week. See for yourself!

Sylvia;

Love to see what you see and read the words that you love.

Thank you for always sharing it with us!

I like to look at friendship as the intermingling of energy between two people where one is allowed to explore another perspective or point of view with out being repelled or judged upon. It is an allowance and an acceptance of true beingness.

When we attach ourselves to any idea or concept, then we become blinded to other equally and valid concepts and ideas. They are all interesting and create a unique experience of perception.

I liked the first snap very much. Friendship has no place for any conditions or barriers

The pictures per se send us words in poesy notes. The sky and the flowers. Beautiful quotes to go along with as well. I would like to ask permission if I can copy those quotations for my quotation blog?

Thank you.

I agree to everything you write. I wish the whole world could read these words. It would be a better world.

That sky shot is really interesting. I don't think I have ever seen clouds in that formation before. Lovely photos.

I think Anais Nin has said it so well about blindly accepting a religion, etc. I am not as poetic and my quote is, "A closed mind is like a closed door; nothing can get through it."

There was a big scary one-eyed sage staring from your sky!

Hi Sylvia,

I love the beauty and majesty of the sky. This pic captures that.

The quote on friendship by Gibran is timely for me.

Thanks,

U

Now that is a sky you don't see every day.

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
