Here's Something to Think About.

Will I Live to see 80?

I recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two visits and exhaustive Lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age.

A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?'

He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?'

'Oh no,' I replied. 'I'm not doing drugs, either!'

Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?'

I said, 'No, my former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!'

'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?'

'No, I don't,' I said.

He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?'

'No,' I said

He looked at me and said,.... 'Then, why do you even give a shit?

Ha Ha! I lived to be 80 plus 4 and I give a shit. I drink wine, too. Once in a blue moon I even have a beer on a hot day. I guess that's enough to make living worthwhile. ;-)

There's a doctor after my own heart.

I had a doctor several years ago who used to tell me all the time that I could live to be 90 or 100. The thought dismayed me. I know people who have done that, and it isn't fun. when it stops being fun, I'm done! Any time the Lord wants me, I'm willing to go. I've had lots of fun so far, but it kind of scares me to think of how it could end. Enough already!

If you have to give up everything you enjoy doing what good does it do you to live that long. It is certainly something to think about.

Very funny. Gotta' enjoy life while we can. No point in saving it for when you're too old to do anything anyway.

But then you woke up because the doctor wasn´t real. A real one would have wanted you to eat 5 more different kind of pills.

Funny, but true!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
