Evening, Wisdom and Beauty

People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in,
their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
-Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
-Eleanor Roosevelt

Even on the highest throne in the world, we are still sitting on our ass.
Michel de Montaigne (1533 - 1592)

The heart has its reasons that reason knows nothing of.
Blaise Pascal, Pensées, 1670

Wisdom is the reward you get for a lifetime of listening when you'd have preferred to talk.
Doug Larson

The photos are so beautiful as are the quotes.
Love the Eleanor Roosevelt one...No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. So true. I make that mistake sometimes!

Our reasoning capabilites are based on our knowledge and our censored knowledge creates stories that we believe to be true. Everything but wisdom is fiction. And wisdom comes from an open heart.

These are all VERY beautiful pictures! WOW! And that first quote! I really want to put it on my blog somewhere. But, I won't, because I know that you found it! I just love it so, so much!

I do so appreciate your lovely photographs and words of wisdom. Methinks my fav today is the 3rd one with the long shadows but they're all wonderful. Methinks it's been a while since you've visited Sacred Ruminations. The way your blog is set up, I don't get to choose which of my Blogger links to leave any more so I try to remember occasionally to leave a link like this. Hope you're having a lovely weekend. Thanks for all your supportive comments at Small Reflections and Happily Retired Gal ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

I love all the photos, but the one above the Eleanor Roosevelt quote is my favourite. I also happen to really like that quote. Well done.

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
