Sky Watch Friday!

So how is the new season affecting your skies? Sky Watch Friday is a wonderful meme hosted by Klaus and the Sky Watch team members, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise and myself. Over three hundred people from all over the world share their skies each week. Click on the icon, sign up and share yours with us!

There is definitely a change in the skies over Seattle as the days get shorter and shorter, more rain and skies that frequently reflect my own grumpy mood at having to wear extra layers of clothes, run in and out of the house between rain showers and the seemingly endless nights as it is dark here before five o'clock in the afternoon! But then those same skies reward me for smiling regardless! Do click on the photo to embiggen!

Some interesting cloud animals appeared the other afternoon!

Then more grumpy gray!

But if you're really, really nice, you just might get a bit of a sunset like this one!

I almost didn't catch it because it had been a gloomy day and I was downstairs, not expecting anything much. Then my son told me to hurry upstairs with the camera! So glad he did, so glad I did! It was magnificent!

Now what kind of animal it could be?...is it a huge insect with wings ready to attack? Grumpy skies gave you great scenes.

Those are some impressive clouds, Sylvia! I believe that I spotted a mouse, whiskers and all, in one of those shots.

Here, we have a little fog some mornings which always seems to give way to our clear blue prairie skies.

I can't wait to get to Las Cruces when we move later this month. With the mountains as a backdrop, my photographs should change quite dramatically.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Cheers!

Beautiful sunset. I didn't like living in San Francisco during the winter because of the gloom, fog, and rain. I guess I'd feel the same way about Seattle.

A well trained and thoughtful son to make sure you didn't miss the sunset. You got some blue sky as well, things aren't all gloom.

You were lucky to the get that beautiful sunset. Nothing like that over here in Nykoping. Just rain. And pitch dark by now.
Have a nice weekend.

Wow, what a sunset!

The seasons are definitely affecting our skies - fall, and with it the rain, has finally arrived, and in full force too.

Hmmm... yes, I recognize some of those gloomy Seattle sky views - I lived there for about 15 years and finally had to leave to escape the dark clouds! BUT, when the sun does shine, it is a gorgeous place to be! :)

I love those big puffy clouds, and that sunset is amazing!!

You got a nice variety this week. And you answered a question I have been meaning to ask you. So, this is the rainy season, there. I wondered how you have been getting so many beautiful shots in the last months, when all I hear is how much it rains there.

Lois said...

They are all pretty, but I really like the looks of the clouds in the first one!

Hi Sylvia, I found your blog via Toby's comment on Skywatch.

Aren't the PNW skys simply the best? In all my years here I have never minded the rain as either before or following there seems to be the promise of a beautiful sky.

Your skies are showing a bit of blue and that's a good sign that they are trying to clear. And the fluffy tufts of white clouds are very pleasant.

Sending you warm sunshine

Your skies are beautiful especially the sunset. Skies don't change with the season here, at least in my opinion. Or it's grey or there are white fluffy clouds or the sky is blue and the whole year long, lol !
With Window Views and Skywatch I slowly get a stiff neck !
