Evening, Wisdom and Beauty

Too often we... enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought. ~John F. Kennedy

In every real man a child is hidden that wants to play. ~Friedrich Nietzsche

Adults are obsolete children. ~Dr. Seuss

One of the virtues of being very young is that you don't let the facts get in the way of your imagination. ~Sam Levenson

Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. ~Mark Twain

Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. ~Samuel Ullman

Thanks as usual for all your support. Your blog brought me much comfort tonight. I leave Brazil on Tuesday and I am in for some tough traveling.

Love the way you do yur quotes and pictures!
I loved all the quotes and it was so hard to single anyone of them out. This one by Mark Twain Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter . That says it all!

If we discard the notions of the mind, we are only left with the experience of the Moment which is beyond age and time. We are happy when the mind is gratified. We find joy when we feel directly from the Heart.

Catching up in my reader this morning ... enjoying all your photos and quotes (laughed aloud at Dr. Seuss) and want to remember from one of your previous 'Evening Wisdom' posts ...

"It is only our own thoughts that hurt us and hold us back." Dr. Lee Jampolsky

Hope you're having a delightful day!

I love these beautiful shots of the sky. What are the purple flowers. I don't know much about flowers at all, but they look a little like lavender. They are beautiful!

Thanks for visiting, Carly! Yes, the flowers are lavender! Friends of mine took me to a lavander festival last summer and it was magnificent! Hope you have a great week!

As usual. Great pairing of quotes and photographs. You must stay busy on your research.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
