One Quiet Moment

The secret to happiness is not in doing what one likes to do, but in liking what one has to do.

One Quiet Moment

If you could choose one characteristic that would get you through life, choose a sense of humor.
-- Jennifer James

So How's Your Day Going??? Better Than This Guys, I Bet!!

I was sitting there at the bar staring at my drink when a large,
trouble-making biker steps up next to me, grabs my drink and gulps it down in one swig.

"Well, whatcha' gonna do about it..?" He says menacingly,
as I burst into tears. "This is the worst day of my life," I say.
"I'm a complete failure.”

I was late to a meeting, and my boss fired me.

When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen, and I don't have any insurance.

I left my wallet in the cab I took home, so that's gone.

I found my wife with another man... and then my own dog bit me.

So I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all.

"So I buy a drink, I drop a cyanide capsule in, and I sit here just watching the poison dissolves..............…

and then you show up and drink the whole damn thing..!

But Hell, enough about me, how's your XXXX day going..?

Our World

Some friends of mine and I went down to the Willamette River a few evenings ago and it was lovely! Clear skies, busy, but still peaceful with happy geese!!  And the boat ready to take people up the river for dinner on board!

One Quiet Moment

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
