Time to Say Goodbye

At least for a while. Things here in Portland have become increasingly difficult and I need to deal with things that I've tried to ignore.  I want to thank all of you for the joy and delight that you have brought into my life over the past six years and I will miss you.  I will continue to visit your blogs whenever possible, just won't be able to post anything worthwhile on mine for now!!

Thank you again! Make the most of each and every day and enjoy the moment!!

One Quiet Moment

What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies.
       - Aristotle

The only way to have a friend is to be one.

How About a Trip to the Falls!!

There is a wonderful mythical law of nature that the three things we crave most in life -- happiness, freedom, and peace of mind -- are always attained by giving them to someone else. -- Peyton Conway

One Quiet Moment

World peace must develop from inner peace. Peace is not just the absence of violence but the manifestation of human compassion.

Our World!!

In my garden, after a rainfall, you can faintly, yes, hear the
      breaking of new blooms.
                                                          - Truman Capote
Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under
trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water,
or watching the clouds float across the sky is by no means
    a waste of time.
                                                                                     - J. Lubbuck
Join us and celebrate the beauty of our world -- regardless of the season!!  Yes, I know, I obviously prefer Spring!!!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
