A Celebration!!!

As many of you know, my youngest daughter, Kerith, was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago in January. She had successful surgery and is doing really well -- no thanks to a wild driver on a California  freeway yesterday causing her car to tumble three times!! She spent the afternoon in the Emergency Room, but was home last evening and feeling good all things considered!! But the wonderful thing I wanted to share with you today is a video made by the cancer center where she went for her surgery and starring none other than my lovely daughter!! I hope you can find a few minutes to watch it. It is an inspiration for all!

Happiness is not in our circumstance but in ourselves. It is not something we see, like a rainbow, or feel, like the heat of a fire. Happiness is something we are. John B. Sheerin

Sky Watch!!

Time to share your skies, the beauty over your world, the clouds, the colors! Sky Watch is hosted each week by  the Sky Watch team led of Yogi, Sandy and Sylvia. And this week as every week, we remember Klaus and know that he joins us in spirit! Join us and the many people from all over the world who share theirs with us each week!  http://skyley.blogspot.com/
We had a sunny day this week -- ONE!! But it has been a mild, if gray, winter so far so I really can't complain other than I miss our colorful skies and glorious sunrises and sunsets -- all the more reason to take lots of photos when they are there!!! Here's some from earlier!!
We either make ourselves happy or miserable. The amount of work is the
same.   Carlos Castaneda

The pleasantest things in the world are pleasant thoughts: and the great art of life is to have as many of them as possible. Montaigne

To get up each morning with the resolve to be happy is to set our own conditions to the events of each day. To do this is to condition circumstances instead of being conditioned by them.  Ralph Waldo Emerson

One Quiet Moment

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.
Buddha

Five Rules To Remember In Life

1. Money cannot buy happiness, but it's more comfortable to cry in a Corvette than on a bicycle.

2. Forgive your enemy, but remember the ass-hole's name.

3. If you help someone when they're in trouble, they will remember you when they're in trouble again.

4. Many people are alive only because it's illegal to shoot them.

5. Alcohol does not solve any problems, but then neither does milk.

THERE YOU HAVE IT...and remember, life is good.
Oh, yes, one more thing!

Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning, the devil says, "Oh, crap, she's up!!!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
