One Quiet Moment

In separateness lies the world's true misery. In compassion lies the world's true strength

Confucius Not Say??? Who Did???

What Confucius not say!

Man who wants pretty nurse, must be patient.

Passionate kiss, like spider web, leads to undoing of fly.

Lady who goes camping must beware of evil intent.

Man who leaps off cliff jumps to conclusion.

Man who runs in front of car gets tired, man who runs behind car gets exhausted.

Man who eats many prunes get good run for money.

War does not determine who is right, it determines who is left.

Man who fight with wife all day get no piece at night.

It takes many nails to build a crib but only one screw to fill it.

Man who drives like hell is bound to get there.

Man who stands on toilet is high on pot.

Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement.

People who live in stone house shouldn't throw glasses.

Finally CONFUCIUS DID SAY ......
"A lion will not cheat on his wife, but a Tiger Wood!"

Password!!! Beware of What You Ask For!!

A lady is helping her husband install his computer. Then having completed that successfully, she said that he now needs a password that he is easy to remember. She asked him his password. Being a bit of a He man, he winks at his wife and says "penis", As he enters the password and presses the mouse button, his wife bursts into a hysterical fit of laughter....... The computer responded: "Too Short - entry refused". I had a great pic to go with this, but nothing on my computer is working today????? Life is short...forgive quickly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably...and never regret anything that made you smile.

Our World!!

Time for Our World again!! This is a wonderful way to find and see the beauty, the fun, the good and even the bad things that are a part of our world and to share them!!  Hope you will join us!!  There has been a lot happening on Mount Hood in the past few days -- one ended well with a missing boy being found safe, the other very sad with the death of a young climber. But the mountain continues to fascinate and draw people to visit and to explore.
Mount Hood, called Wy'east by the Multonomah tribe, is a stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc of northern Oregon. It was formed by a subduction zone on the Pacific coast and rests in the Pacific Northwest region of the US. It is locate about 50 miles east-southeast of Portland, on the border between Clackamas and Hood River counties. In addition to being Oregon's highest mountain, it is one of the loftiest mountains in the nation based on its prominence.

It has been in the news in the past couple of days when a dozen rescuers armed with chain saws and other tools chipped away at tons of ice and snow Sunday to recover the body of a 25 year old snowboarder killed when an ice tunnel collapsed on the mountain. And a teen hiker was found safe after his family reported him missing in the Mount Hood National Forest on Friday Morning.

The earth has music for those who listen.

Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.

Nature is not a place to visit. It is home.

One Quiet Moment

Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has many—not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.
-- Charles Dickens

Beware of Parrots!!!

A woman went to a pet shop and immediately spotted a large, beautiful parrot.
There was a sign on the cage that said 50.00.

"Why so little?" she asked the pet store owner.
The owner looked at her and said,"Look, I should tell you first that this bird used to live in a house of prostitution, and sometimes it says some pretty vulgar stuff."

The woman thought about this, but decided she had to have the bird anyway. She took it home and hung the bird's cage up in her living room and waited for it to say something.

The bird looked around the room, then at her, and said,"New house, new madam."

The woman was a bit shocked at the implication, but then thought "that's really not so bad."

When her two teenage daughters returned from school, the bird saw them and said, "New house, new madam, new girls."

The girls and the woman were a bit offended but then began to laugh about the situation considering how and
where the parrot had been raised.
Moments later, the woman's husband Keith came home from work.
The bird looked at him and said,"Hi Keith."

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
