Ponderisms for the Day
(something to think about) |
1- I used
to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural
causes.
|
2- There
are two kinds of pedestrians . . . The quick and the
dead.
|
3- Life
is sexually transmitted.
|
4-
Healthy is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can
die.
|
5- The
only difference between a rut and a grave is the
depth.
|
6- Health
nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of
nothing.
|
7- Have
you noticed since everyone has a cell phone these days no one talks about seeing
UFOs like they used to?
|
8-
Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing
again.
|
9- All of
us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to
criticism.
|
10- In
the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and
people take Prozac to make it
normal.
|
11- How
is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to
start a campfire?
|
12- Who
was the first person to look at a cow and say, 'I think I'll squeeze these
dangly things and drink whatever comes out'? Hmmmmm, How about eggs ? . .
.
|
13- If
Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a song about
him?
|
14- Why
does your OB-GYN leave the room when you get undressed if they are going to look
up there anyway?
|
16- If
corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, then what
is baby oil made from?
|
17- Do
illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet
Soup?
|
18- Does
pushing the elevator button more than once make it arrive
faster?
|
19- Why
doesn't glue stick to the inside of the
bottle?
20. Do you ever wonder why you stop by my blog???

One Quiet Moment
The Time is Drawing Near!!
I still have about six weeks before the big move back to Portland, but there is SO much to be done that I'm going to be short on time. Consequently, I won't be blogging as frequently as I have over the past five years and I won't be able to participate in the memes as I have. I will try to visit as many sites as I can and I will still put up posts, just probably not as frequently. I look forward to being settled in my new home and being able to get back to the "important" thing in my life!!! I will miss all of you and hope that now and then you'll check in to say hi and I will do the same with you!! You have all become such wonderful friends and an important part of the life of this "old broad"!!

New Government Symbol
The
new government symbol is announced
The government announced that it is changing its symbol for Congress to a Condom, because it more accurately reflects the government's political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of dicks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed!!
Damn!! It just doesn't get any more accurate than that!!!

One Quiet Moment
A Great Way to Celebrate Getting Old!!
My wonderful friend, Suranga, in India sent this to me and I had to share it with you! Get ready to laugh!!
To commemorate her 79th birthday , actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP. One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. Here are the lyrics she used:
(Sing It!) - If you sing it, its especially hysterical!!!
Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.
When the joints ache, When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

(Ms. Andrews received a standing ovation from the crowd
that lasted over four minutes and repeated encores. Please
share Ms. Andrews' clever wit and humor with others who
would appreciate it.)
