A quick update on my big move -- I had no idea what or how much information and time this move was going to require -- don't you love big corporations????? Anyway, after dozens of phone calls and faxes we were finally able to get it all together and now it has to go to Corporate for final stamp! Looks like the end of the month now. We took the latest/last bit of info to them yesterday and I got another look at the apartment and it looks even better than it did the first time and I am SO excited -- frustrated, but excited! I'll keep you posted and have shadowy photos soon!

I'm still depending on my archives, but I'm not the only one weary of our weather -- a big event every spring is the Tulip Festival in the Skagit Valley and it usually begins in late March with fields and fields of gorgeous tulips of every color. This year they've rescheduled three times and have already given notice that there may not be a festival this year -- there are NO tulips!!!  Forty-one days straight of rain and below normal temps is discouraging to tulips as well as people! So my reminder is a quote by Aristotle!

First let me give you an update on my move. I'm still waiting for all the tons of paper work to be processed -- since this is housing for seniors they want to make damn sure you're who you say you are, you're as old as you claim and that you haven't robbed or murdered anyone -- on purpose!! So, hopefully, next week will see everything in place and we can get on with it!! Do hold good thoughts for me -- I'm really tired of living out of a suitcase!

Government Job Hours

 A guy goes to the post office to apply for a job.
The interviewer asks him, "Are you allergic to anything?"
He replies, "Yes, caffeine. I can't drink coffee."
"Ok, Have you ever been in the military service?"
"Yes," he says, "I was in Iraq for one tour."
The interviewer says, "That will give you 5 extra points toward employment." 
Then he asks, "Are you disabled in any way?"
The guy says, "Yes. A bomb exploded near me and I lost both my testicles."

The interviewer grimaces and then says, "Okay. You've got enough points for me to hire you right now. Our normal hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. You can start tomorrow at 10:00 am, and plan on starting at 10:00 am every day."
The guy is puzzled and asks, "If the work hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 PM, why don't you want me here until 10:00 am?"
"This is a government job", the interviewer says. 
"For the first two hours, we just stand around drinking coffee and scratching our balls. No point in you coming in for that."

ABC Wednesday - L!

Got your dictionary out? You ready to play with the letters? It's that time again! ABC Wednesday is hosted by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt and the ABC team: Denise, Annelie, Leslie, Nathalie, Joyce, Donna, Helen, Roger, Troy, Jay, Barb, Gattina and me! And guess what? It's that day again!
 
Oh, Lord! It's the L Day or in the case of ABC Wednesday participants, L is for Labor day! And there is no Lack of L words for the day - don't you Love it!! Don't Lag behind, the Laundry can wait! For you gals, Let's make Like a Lady, put on something Lacey and show a Little Leg! Do watch your Language though and don't get into a fight with your Landlord today. Grab your Laptop and Let's head for the Lake or the Lagoon and you can bring your Lap dog if you Like!! And it's all right if you're a Latecomer because you had to do the Laundry at the Laundromat! You can still be the Liberal,  Leading Lady, the Landlord or the Lovable Lamb! And you gentlemen can roar Like a Lion in the Lobby while we wait for our Loan! Then we can Linger under the Lush, Leafy trees, enjoy Lunch and some Literature before we have to meet in the Lobby to share our Language and demonstrate just how Literate we are when it comes to the ABCs!! And here are my Ls for the day and they're all mine!! Lion, Lavender, Lovely Light, Lattice, Lap dog, Lace and Llama!!  Now, Lead on!!

This shot and the next two were taken on the usual gray day at the Arboretum, but these old, twisted trunks were so interesting to me. I look forward to going back once the sun returns and sit for a while and enjoy the beauty -- the sun will return won't it?????

I'm hoping this is our last weekend here!!! Mojo's Dad has been gone and will be until Tuesday and so where does she come to sleep??? That's right! In the middle of Moms bed -- my bed!! There's not room for us because she stretches CLEAR across the bed!! Mom says I'll miss Mojo once we move --- me?? not a chance!! I'm sure glad I have you guys to talk to every weekend!!

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
