Sky Watch Friday!

Time to share your skies, the beauty over your world, the clouds, the colors! Sky Watch is hosted each week by Klaus and the Sky Watch team of Klaus, Sandy, Wren and me. Join us and the many people from all over the world who share theirs with us each week! Click on the post title to be taken to the SWF website where you can sign up.

First let me give you an update on my move. I'm still waiting for all the tons of paper work to be processed -- since this is housing for seniors they want to make damn sure you're who you say you are, you're as old as you claim and that you haven't robbed or murdered anyone -- on purpose!! So, hopefully, next week will see everything in place and we can get on with it!! Do hold good thoughts for me -- I'm really tired of living out of a suitcase!

Now for today's pics! After a gray, grumpy, cloudy, cold, windy day, about six o'clock the skies began to clear and this was the glorious way we ended the day! It was worth waiting for! Enjoy!

If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal.
Emma Goldman

Politics is too serious a matter to be left to the politicians.
Charles de Gaulle

Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.
Richard Armour

Principles have no real force except when one is well-fed.
Mark Twain

And from my dear friend in Mumbai .........

Green prayers
under an
erstwhile blue sky;

Dark clouds
gather,
bursting at the seams,
outrageously
hiding
the good,
the bright
and the shining.

Whether
it's
a semicircular dome,
a temple top
or the
faithful pair ,
praising the Lord,
hands
raised to the heavens,
something says,
that
the black
will soon pass
revealing
the peaceful,
smiling
all encompassing
blue
sky behind.....

Beautiful photos, Sylvia. Keep up updated on that move. I must have missed that news before. You will be able to take your dog, right?

The first quote is especially touching.

It certainly was worth waiting for:-)
I hope your move goes smoothly, Sylvia, and that you settle in happily and make new friends. Living out of a suitcase isn't a lot of fun, but hopefully it won't be for too much longer.

Elections may soon be upon this City of Angels, but the greatest fear is that under clear blue skies, swathes of red, yellow, saffron and pink will clash and push this city to blood and ruin yet again...

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
