Sky Watch Friday!

Time to share your skies, the beauty over your world, the clouds, the colors! Sky Watch is hosted each week by Klaus and the Sky Watch team of Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and me. Join us and the many people from all over the world who share theirs with us each week! Click on the icon and sign up today!

Our skies this week have been either gray or blue with few if any clouds -- better than rain, but a bit dull, so I had to look back for a little sky drama. I'm still on a Mark Twain kick as I'm fascinated by his humor, his wisdom and the fact that most of what he says is as applicable to today as it was then! May you all have beautiful skies!

"A man has no business to be depressed by a disappointment, anyway; he ought to make up his mind to get even." — Mark Twain

"If you must be indiscreet, be discrete in your indiscretion." — Mark Twain

"Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities. Truth isn't." — Mark Twain

"The only truly prominent community that fundamentalists have so far established in any world, real or imaginary, is hell." — Mark Twain

"I became a newspaperman. I couldn't find honest employment." — Mark Twain

"It's better to stay silent and look a fool, rather than speak and remove all doubt."
— Mark Twain

"Life should begin with age and it's privileges and accumulations, and end with youth and it's capacity to splendidly enjoy such advantages." — Mark Twain

Goodness, these are gorgeous. The weathermen can take off day they want--just press the button that plays the recording! Beautiful images, Sylvia. And the best of Twain. Thanks!

Sylvia, these clouds are truly beautiful. I like the first shot esp. the clouds look like big white mountains rising behind the trees. And a gorgeous sunset also.

The Twain quotes are great. I especially like the fundamentalists one and the last one. I was just thinking this morning how I would have done some things so much differently in my youth if I had had the knowledge, experience and yes, wisdom, that I have now.
I have been watching the sky here and I just sent Tom out to get the lawn mowed because it's looking like it might rain!

I know we're not voting, but if we were, I would choose the 3rd photo down as my favorite. I love it!

Happy Skywatching, Sylvia.

Sylvia, I feel it happening: our blue daytime skies here are having a few more clouds appear and the evening sunsets are so warm with color; even a touch of foliage is offering bits of orange and red. I'm not quite ready, but who asked me. :) Have a wonderful weekend.

Sallie (FullTime-Life) said...

So lovely Sylvia. I have a question about the Skywatch best sky collection. Can I repost another sky -- the one I have this week isn't spectacular, it's just where we happen to be right now on our roadtrip. would it be OK to add another link to an older post with a prettier sky?

These are incredible cloud formations against a brilliant blue sky! And, the sunset...so beautiful. We might get some thunderheads later this month as they migrate here from the desert over the mountains...but, until then, nothing too dramatic in our sky...just blue (hopefully without too much haze).
