That's My World!

That's My World is hosted each week by Klaus and the My World team, Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and me. Click on the icon and share your world with others from all over Our World! So! How is your world this week? Have you taken time to see the beauty there? What is it about your world that makes you smile or laugh or feel grateful for? Here are some of those things from my world today.

I lost my connection to the internet for 5 hours today, so I'm late getting to everyone. My apologies!

"Grief can take care of itself, but to get the full value of joy you must have somebody to divide it with."
— Mark Twain

"There's one way to find out if a man is honest: ask him; if he says yes, you know he's crooked."
— Mark Twain

"Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know because I've done it thousands of times."
— Mark Twain

"No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session."
— Mark Twain

"It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress."
— Mark Twain

"There is no sadder sight than a young pessimist, except an old optimist."
— Mark Twain

At first I was going to say I'm an old optimist, then I started to think of the state of the economy, gridlock in congress and the California legislature, global warming, oil in the gulf and got depressed. I'm not so optimistic anymore.

Nice photos, great quotes. Have a great week. I'm off to the mountains which always lift my spirits.

Love the sunset and the rhododendron, it's already out of bloom here.
The best thing about my world is my partner whith whom I can share the little things and who doesn't give me that look I get from many other people when I blurt out with some random fact I've just learned :D

Only 5 hours? That doesn't even count as late in my book.

Great photos and quotes, as always.

And by the way, I enjoyed reading Chasing Ashes. Were the other, lost novels precursors to this one, or entirely separate?

Very beautiful landscapes (as usual) I am getting furious when internet breaks down, fortunately it doesn't happen often, don't even remember the last time but still I get the impression that my day is turned upside down and I don't know what to do with myself, lol !

Better late than never. These beautiful pictures and quotes are definitely worth the wait.

As always, you have shown us the beauty of the Northwest! Mark Twain would have been a great TV political commentator! Too bad that today's commentators have lost their sense of humor.

Janie said...

Great photos from your beautiful world, and Mark Twain's words are as witty, wise, and timely as ever.

I am so sorry for the late visit. I have been busy for the past days.

Have a great weekend.

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
