That's My World!

That's My World is hosted each week by Klaus and the My World team, Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and me. Click on the icon and share your world with others from all over Our World! So! How is your world this week? Have you taken time to see the beauty there? What is it about your world that makes you smile or laugh or feel grateful for? You can click on the photos to embiggen and get a better look!

Fall is definitely in the air here in Seattle. Hard to believe that yet another year is drawing to a close -- I'm quite sure since I turned 70 seven years ago that I've been having two birthdays a year! How else could I have possibly gotten this OLD??? Ah, well, it could all be so much worse, I have my health in spite of crappy knees, I still only need glasses to read or work on the computer, I haven't lost my sense of humor, my kids are doing well and I have all of you wonderful blogging friends to help me fill the days/nights with so much fun and laughter. And, no, that's still not all there is to my world and looking back I'd thought I'd share a few things from the last year in my world! Jeez! where did all of this come from? More proof of my big mouth!! And as for humor, well, no one does that better than Mark Twain!

History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme. — Mark Twain

Mojo on Whidbey Island, fetching her "stick"??????

Education: the path from cocky ignorance to miserable uncertainty. — Mark Twain

And our deck, where I spend so many wonderful hours!

There is a charm about the forbidden that makes it unspeakably desirable.
— Mark Twain

The harbor from the overlook and a beautiful Fall day!

Why waste your money looking up your family tree? Just go into politics and your opponent will do it for you. — Mark Twain

I'm sure you recognize my friends here!

Ah, smell that fragrance? The Lavender Festival!!

If we were supposed to talk more than listen we would have been given two mouths and one ear. — Mark Twain

Since I have never smelled lavendar, I have no idea what the field of it is like! And, yes, your deck looks so inviting and wonderful. Nice pics!

wonderful! wonderful!
I CAN smell the lavender! mmmmmm
Try what my friend does. Every year on her birthday, she gets a year younger.
love your photos, love your quotes, your writing, your humor (the dog and stick are great!)! Your blog is always a joy to visit!

Sylvia, i keep repeating myself but i will say it again.
I just adore your beautiful world. Your wise thoughts.
And love your photographs.
...And.. dont forget.. age has nothing to do with the years one has on his back. ..
It has to do with how old or how young one feels...
You will always be young and fresh to share your world with us, to makes us smile.
Have a great week.

Your youthful spirit outshines your surprising age. Looking at the dog photo, I can see that he thinks BIG! As for the wide brush of lavender … I can almost smell them through my monitor! :)

Wait. What? Your dog's name is Mojo?

Awwwww!!! That was my reaction when I saw the pic with your deck!!! I so loved it. I stidy for around 12-13 hours a day and I'm supposed to do this for 9-11 months for my Residency exam. All this sitting at home, alone. I just wish I had that deck to study at. It would have made such a difference. Its the best I've ever seen. Its cute and cosy. Loved it.

The other pics were good too..

Have a nice week. :)

Sylvia: Neat post with all the remembrances. I do not think of you as 77. You seem so much younger.

The last quote really made me smile.
You are so right Sylvia. The older you grow the shorter a year seems to be. Awsome pictures you show. The lavender is beautiful, I can almost smell it.

I am so envious of you being in the lavender field.

I sat out in the sun for a while this afternoon, wondering when I will get to do that again. Hopefully I'll only have to wait for this coming storm to pass, but in late august you never know.

We do live in a wonderful world.

My dear, the years have whizzed by until the person looking at us from the mirror no longer reflects the person we feel inside.
For every ailment including age, laughter is definitely the best medicine.
Thank God I can rely on my progeny and bloggy friends for that!

I wish Mark Twain had been my brother.

I wish you a wonderful week with lots of laughs.

Mojo and the stick made me smile. Cariadd used to carry what looked like telegraph poles! The lavender fields look wonderful and if my garden looked as inviting as your deck I'd be happy indeed :-)

I just want to know who threw that stick that Mojo is bringing back!

I love Mark Twain's quote about politics. It's more true than not, these days. I would love to see a lavender festival. That looks so pretty.

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly.
