MicroFiction Monday

Susan at Stony River Farm hosts Microfiction Monday. She posts a picture and you compose a story in 140 characters. You can click on the link under the title to get further instructions. To help you along she has posted a wonderful link that counts your characters for you! How great is that! You can get the counter at Design 215.

This meme is easy and it's fun! Thanks, Susan for hosting.

And here's the picture for the day!

I'm dolled up, doing laundry in the yard for this guy to take pics for
for a special edition -- of what? Little Woman's Day on the Prairie?
139

And from my wonderful friend in Mumbai, how about this take on the pic of the day!!

"Don't be fooled by my smile.. as soon the fellow clicks, whoever threw this grater into the soap water is going to get a shower of soap suds."

Am I happy to have a washing machine, lol !

The picture and your story remind me of early TV commercials (and shows, come to think of it) where Mom was in high heels while vacuuming and doing other house work!

Lol! I, too, noticed now nicely dressed she was for doing laundry. I guess that's how they sold Ivorine back in the day--showing women how attractive they could be while doing household chores like laundry! Good one, Sylvia.

He better be careful or some wet clothes are going to be thrown at him and his camera. I don't blame her for being ticked. You have a wonderful week ahead., Hope your weekend was happy

when I was little, I helped mum do laundry this way, except we squatted and used OMO. We didn't wear a bonnet.

This pic reminds me of the ads in the 50's, the Mrs. Clever look in a nice dress, stockings snd pumps, but this is a much older era.

Sylvia, I am betting she will be on the cover. And maybe even make the centerfold!

I washed clothes on one of those "graters" once. clothes must have been a whole lot sturdier back in the "olden" days. It shredded my blue jeans!

She's saying: Rubba-dub-dub...I'm holding his head down in the tub!
He's saying: Glub. Glub. Glub.

She's thinking: When the DA hears my story, I'm SURE he'll rule it Justifiable Homicide.

If you were to believe soap operas, people doll themselves up for washdays - except they don't usually have washdays.

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
