Sky Watch Friday!

Time to share your skies, the beauty over your world, the clouds, the colors! Sky Watch is hosted each week by Klaus and the Sky Watch team of Klaus, Sandy, Wren and me. Join us and the many people from all over the world who share theirs with us each week! Click on the post title to be taken to the SWF website where you can sign up. I'm afraid I have nothing good to say about the weather or the skies this week! Thank goodness for photo files!! The ones today weren't taken THAT long ago, just not this week! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! And now for some wisdom, humor and beauty!

The 1928 Republican Convention opened with a prayer. If the Lord can see His way clear to bless the Republican Party the way it's been carrying on, then the rest of us ought to get it without even asking.
Will Rogers
Hmmmm??? Sound familiar -- be sure and check the date!!

The more that learn to read the less learn how to make a living. That's one thing about a little education. It spoils you for actual work. The more you know the more you think somebody owes you a living.
Will Rogers

The only difference between death and taxes is that death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets.
Will Rogers

There is no more independence in politics than there is in jail.
Will Rogers

And how about this one from Winston Churchill?  Guess we don't have many like him anymore either!!!
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
Winston Churchill

"The only difference between death and taxes is that death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets." Never more true than applied to the Congress that just ended. Let's hope this one does better...

«Louis» likes the Churchill quote. He's currently reading Carlo d'Este's biography of Churchill from the military perspective.

Gorgeous photos, Sylvia. I'm afraid I disagree with Will Rogers in the first quotation, but I love the Winston Churchill quote and I intend to use it, even try to perpetuate it.

DRAMA in the skies.
Seeing that lonely plane, I'm thinking how
Churchill's "The few" always makes me grateful.

I'll have to remember Churchill's quote, and summon the courage to say nothing and just listen more often :)

Don't be looking up at the sky for the next few days. You'll get a face full of rain.

Wonderful to see your skies full of colors and light on another grey day in the Netherlands. I specially love the shot of that plane high in the sky. It would be great to sit in it and fly to the sun. :-)
