Sky Watch Friday!

Time to share your skies, the beauty over your world, the clouds, the colors! Sky Watch is hosted each week by Klaus and the Sky Watch team of Klaus, Sandy, Wren and me. Join us and the many people from all over the world who share theirs with us each week! Click on the address under the post title to be taken to the SWF website where you can sign up.  I continue to be amazed with the view from my desk almost every evening in one way or another -- if there's anything worth seeing in the skies, particularly in the evening, then it will be visible from my desk! This was a sunset several nights ago over a period of about twenty-five minutes, maybe less, but it was amazing!  Also amazing is the insight and wisdom of some people!!

Economics is extremely useful as a form of employment for economists.
John Kenneth Galbraith

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
George Washington
Circumstances are beyond human control, but our conduct is in our own power.
Benjamin Disraeli
A diplomat is a person who can tell you to go to hell in such a way that you actually look forward to the trip.
Caskie Stinnett

Whenever a man has cast a longing eye on offices, a rottenness begins in his conduct.
Thomas Jefferson

Whenever men take the law into their own hands, the loser is the law. And when the law loses, freedom languishes.
Robert Kennedy

Beautiful, Sylvia.
So, your blog post gave me lots to do today. I forwarded one of your quotations to my husband and one to a blogger friend, and I visited your friend's page to tell her how much I love your blog-headers and ended up following her blog.

Like that last saying "if law loses, freedom languishes" -how true! And the warning the first saying holds, should be well taken:)

Love your sunset, Sylvia! And the quote about the diplomat is oh so true. I should now, having been a politician myself. Thought I could at least try to make a difference but my familiy suffered from my efforts so I had to quit. I was tired of all the lies and deceptions anyway...But it was fun, though! As I can imagine how much fun you had, taking these breathtaking shots! Have a good weekend, Sylvia. And may you spend it in freedom.

That sunset with the GW quote is absolutely sublime, Sylvia. We really need to cherish the beauty and wonder of what we have in the natural world and in the one we create.

The shot with your camera's reflections is darn cool, too. It makes you a part of the shot, and that is awesome.
