A friendship can weather most things and thrive in thin soil; but it needs a
little mulch of letters and phone calls and small, silly presents every so
often - just to save it from drying out completely.

You got me with the mellow orange glass reflection and the Hubbard quote you paired it with today, Sylvia. I wish you a new year of joy and health... and many fun hours of blogging!

Each of these photos is stunning in its own unique way. I especially like the amber shadow of the vase.

I'm looking forward to a Tacoma Rose chocolate now...lol!

Beautiful pictures in this post -- but your friends' header this time is just downright mean ;>))))).... Have you seen the cartoon of the "middle-aged" woman who is saying 'hand over the chocolate and the wine and nobody gets hurt?"

Wonderful quotes about friendship. They say positive things about human relationships at a time when there is so much stress and negativity.

Excellent, Sylvia. Three very different photos.

What a lovely series, but the last shot has to be by far my favorite. The reflection of the wine glass is awesome...love the colors. and your new banner is even cuter than the last. You are one lucky gal to have such a talented friend. Her work is definitely one of a kind. genie

Sylvia...that last photo and quote say it all, doesn't it? great is a friend who has stuck with you through thick and thin; do you have one of those kinds of friends? Mine is Susan, a college friend and sorority sister-we reunited after 20 years and I just love her to pieces and it's the same for her.
Happy New Year!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
