Weekend Reflections!

Weekend Reflections is hosted by James each week beginning Friday at 11 AM Eastern Standard Time. It's another wonderful way of opening your eyes to new and different kinds of beauty. Click on the web address under the blog title and sign up to play with us!

Old age, believe me, is a good and pleasant thing. It is true you are gently shouldered off the stage, but then you are given such a comfortable front stall as spectator.

Old age is fifteen years older than I am.

That first shot is stunning!

Lovely photos, Sylvia - was the second one taken on a cruise? I'll give Socks an extra pat today, and please give Sam one from us. Have a great weekend!

I always love your sea views! Today the 2nd one is my favorite, maybe more simple but filled with romantism and nostalgy..
Have a nice week-end , dear Sylvia!

Both are beautiful, but that first one just speaks to me. The setting sun makes gorgeous reflections with textures across the water.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend, mon amie, filled with activities and a camera in hand!

Genie

Your water and sky shots are always great!

I really like Oliver Wendell Holmes' attitude. I'm going to have to keep that in mind. Your pictures are beautiful as usual.

You make a great superwoman!

The top one is glorious and the bottom one reminds me of when I was in the navy setting out to sea. Great shots!

That second one gave rise to some puzzlement: Is it a reflection, a photo through a window - or both?

Great photos, Sylvia, and I love the quotes as I have just retired finally...more time for blogging...:)

the 2nd quote made me laugh!

I especially love your quotes, Sylvia. They're both true, but the second one made me laugh. Funny how sometimes, my father used to describe someone as old (always in a kind way) and then realize they were younger than he was. Now, I catch myself almost doing the same thing. That first shot is wonderfully dramatic, by the way.

Holmes was so correct. :))

Yes, it's a delight to see this excellent sky and its reflections on the sea. Greetings and happy weekend.

Oliver Wendell Holmes was such a wise man. I have said exactly what he says about old age . . . it is 15 years older than whatever age I am.

These are two very original and gorgeous skies. I love the color of the first one and the originality of the second.

What a wonderful sunset indeed..

Beautiful shots - and that last quote is perfect! I think I shall adopt that one! And your headers are such fun!

Amazing reflections, first shot is my favorite.

Beautiful images Sylvia, the sunset in the first is spectacular but I also love the view through the glass.

Wonderful reflections (both the pictures and, in the other sense, the words!)

The photos are very nice. The sentiments? I dunno. I'm getting older. I don't like it. And the worst part is that life ain't gonna get any better! Can't fight it, either. So, you just keep putting one foot in front of the other and doing the things you can do, and hope for the best.

I'd rather be a few years younger. I think. What with global warming and the political and economic carnage around the world, maybe I wouldn't.

I'm smiling, though.

And I'm going to play golf tomorrow. That's something! Especially when I beat the 50-somethings! Hah!

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
