Well summer has arrived with a bang!! Clear blue skies, but it is HOT!! And of course, when you've only had temps in the low 70s for most of the summer, 90 seems like living on the side of hell!! Yes, I know we're wusses here in Seattle when it comes to hot weather!! Hope all of you have a beautiful week!!  And thanks to all of you for your wonderful birthday wishes!! Hot or not, it was a beautiful birthday!!!

Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.

We haven't even been able to get low 70s for a LOW temperature!

Beautiful pictures, Sylvia!

The pigeon looks OK. But what a wonderful collage! I was last in Seattle in 1980 for a convention. I thought it was beautiful then although I supposed it's change a wee bit - gotten even better! :-)

Ms. Giesemann is a good friend and a wonderful person. While I'm a skeptic, she can be very convincing, and I know she's a caring person in every way. You may find her books of interest, especially if you have a spiritual bent. Lois Anne and she have a special bond.

Best wishes!

P.S. Your quote about "happiness" is right on...even at my age I still seem to be planning to be really happy at sometime in the future!

Enjoy the hot weather while it lasts! Lovely shots...

I love your collage! I'm not really happy about your warmer weather as we booked air travel to Seattle for later this month and 90F is not in the plan.

Good words to remember and live by! We have those hot temps all summer (and some of the spring and fall)! This summer seems even hotter to me, but it could be I just don't tolerate it as well as I used to.

So right about 'Happiness'.
It is different for different people, but best if you design for present. Lovely collage.

Beautiful photos of Seattle. It is a lovely city. Hope you don't melt in all that heat!!

Beautiful mosaic, Sylvia. Enjoy your summery weather. It was 5oC when I left home this morning. That's quite cold for Melbourne, especially when the wind chill factor shaves a few more degrees off!

The header blew me away, Sylvia! You sure do hobnob with important people in your world. :)

Looks indeed like a city in peace with itself.

Please have a good Tuesday.

I missed your birthday, Sylvia. I hope it was wonderful, like you! I also hope that some of your heat makes its way down the coast to my garden. My zucchini could use some sun! Have a great week!

Sylvia, I am not sure if I wished your a happy birthday. Happy belated Birthday. If you come to Maryland in the summer you can feel the hot, hazy and humid weather. 92 would feel like a 102. YUCK! I did enjoy the weather when I was out your way two weeks ago. Your photos and post are beautiful. Thanks for sharing and hosting. Have a HAPPY week ahead.

Happy Belated Birthday to you. I hope it cooled off now as we've also been having hot weather to the north of you but now it is has cooled a bit.

Makes me want to be there but I'll skip the pigeon bit. The pigeons on my windowsills and their... er... droppings... have made me hate pigeons everywhere...

Sylvia did not know who your connections were at such high fields, nothing more and nothing less than the President .......
As you comment in your post today, happiness is not something you postpone for the future, we must learn to enjoy it when I believe it is essential to knowing how to enjoy those little moments that offers a daily basis.

I am smiling and agreeing with you about the 90 degree weather -- Eugene got to 101 on Saturday (it wasn't quite that hot out here at the Lake). Beautiful pictures and the quote is definitely true, definitely!!!!

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
