How About a Laugh to Wind Down the Day?

Sometimes you are encouraged about the future when you see something like this:

Specifically, there is an annual contest at the University of Arkansas  calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.

This year's term was:  "Political Correctness."
The winner wrote:    "Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end. "
You know why a banana is like a politician? When he first comes in he is green, then he turns yellow and then he's rotten..

I think Congressmen should wear uniforms like NASCAR drivers so we could identify their corporate sponsors!

An old one, but unfortunately, still SO true!!

A bit of humor helps all of us cope with this deplorable situation with Congress. When will it end? Isn;t it nice that they still get paid no matter what they do NOT do! genie

Oh, I really hope I can remember that definition of political correctness and pull it out at an auspicious moment.

Unfortunately the total idiocy of political correctness is no laughing matter. The same applies to sexual harassment when a complimentary wolf whistle is deemed to be harassment. I was never so cheered as when I was heavily pregnant and pushing a stroller and a king truck driver gave me the biggest wolf whistle ever.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
