The Best Way to Deal With Politics!!!

*The problem with political jokes is they get elected. *~Henry Cate, VII~

*If we got one-tenth of what was promised to us in these State of the Union Speeches, there wouldn't be any inducement to go to heaven.*~Will Rogers~

*When I was a boy I was told that anybody could become President;  I'm beginning to believe it.  *~Clarence Darrow~

*Politicians are people who, when they see light at the end of the tunnel, they go out and buy some more tunnel.  *~John Quinton~

*Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich, by promising to protect each from the other.*~Oscar Ameringer~

BUT - my favorite is from Harry Truman:
If you want a real friend - that you can trust in Washington - go buy a dog!

Funny!! My son teaches college courses in Political Science, so I'm gonna share this with him. He'll get a kick out them all.

My favorite is YOUR favorite. And then, "open season".

You've done a great job of summarizing the essence of politicians. Thanks for the smiles on Election Day.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
