Our World

A new year and a new look to my neighborhood!
IT SNOWED!!!
And while we do see snow now and then, it’s not the usual thing even in January!!
But I do love snow as long as it doesn’t hang around for TOO long!! I’m pretty sure this won’t last more than another day or so, but of course, I could be wrong – it is the weather and not always predictable!!
I couldn’t get out much further than my front porch, but I did want to share a little wintry look for Portland and My World for the day! So, I hope you will forgive the poor quality of the pics!!

I hope all of you have had a wonderful holiday season  and that you’re ready for a new year!!

That sure ain't Ocala you've pictured here. I told Lois the other day I would like to see some snow. For about an hour. It's cold here this morning - 43 degrees. Brrrr...

Hope you're off to a great week!

Hello Sylvia, compliments of the season to you! Oh wow, how I would love to walk barefoot in that snow! We're very hot and dry here. May you have health and happiness in 2016. Greetings Jo

I love snow Sylvia. We got our first snowfall on the weekend. Really late for my part of Canada. Hope your New Year is filled with happiness Sylvia.

Your snow pics are beautiful but I am glad I don't have to live with it all around me. Beat wishes for the new year to you!

It is magical isn't it. That first fall of snow wraps you in a blanket of silence.

Hello Sylvia! I like to look at the snow, it is very pretty. But, I would not mind not having any snow this winter. Enjoy and have a happy week!

I'm glad you didn't venture far off your porch ....that stuff can be treacherous. And your pictures are great and much appreciated. Kids told me about the Eugene snow, but nobody sent a picture. ( I don't think they had this much, at least when we talked) .... I hope you stay warm and cozy and safe. Thanks for hosting.

A magical event for sure Sylvia and as Angie said couldn't possible be any more different from ours :) You take care in that cold slippery weather.

Snow at last - how lovely!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
