Evening Words, Wisdom and Beauty
The greed of gain has no time or limit to its capaciousness. Its one object is to produce and consume. It has pity neither for beautiful nature nor for living human beings. It is ruthlessly ready without a moment's hesitation to crush beauty and life out of them, molding them into money.
Rabindranath Tagore
Every difficulty slurred over will be a ghost to disturb your repose later on.
Rabindranath Tagore
I will not be just a tourist in the world of images, just watching images passing by which I cannot live in, make love to, possess as permanent sources of joy and ecstasy.

The water makes the stones softer and round all the time. When will it end? Could it some day end?
Every difficulty slurred over will be a ghost to disturb your repose later on.

This is a thought provoking one Sylvia. Interesting.
It would be interesting to count the number of colours in those pebbles!
If we turn each moment into ease and grace, then there will be no ghosts lingering over our shoulders.
Sylvia: I love your watery captures, very nice.
Wonderful words and images. Good food for thought.

Love this one, "Every difficulty slurred over will be a ghost to disturb your repose later on."
Thinking of you Sylvia, and came just to say hello
love to you

Very powerful prose..we must all do our part. Happy Earth week..nice to meet one who cares about the gifts Mother Earth gives us.
our life is full of images to enjoy and take in
I'm so glad you post quotes by Anais Nin. Sometimes I think she has been long forgotten. Such an interesting writer. Beautiful photos, as always.
Krugman's essay (that you've written about below) resonated with me as well. At this moment, a lot of parental involvement at home to fill in the gaps seems to be the only answer.
Well chosen words for the times!!
beautiful quotes!
I love your tulip tree & there is nothing so pretty as water rushing over rocks.
The Tagore quote about difficulties being slurred over is very timely. Injecting a little politics here I might say that ignoring the Bush administrations illegalities would fall into that category.
I love the sound of water, whether it is the roar of a waterfall or the soft sounds of a brook lapping over pebbles. You have captured a visual portrait of those sounds and I can almost hear them.
How true ring those words. We try to do our utmost to achieve a better world. Do the ones who are in charge and responsible put on their listening ears, unfortunately NOT! Never have! Never will.History tells the past and the future. What has been the future is now the past.
I especially like the quote on greed, Sylvia. We live in such a greedy society. When will we learn as a culture that "things" do NOT make us happy, do not calm our spirits?
