That's My World -- Bird Sanctuary

Share your world with us and enjoy the beauty in other people's world as well.
My World is hosted each week by Klaus and the My World team -- Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and myself! Click on the icon, read/follow the instructions, sign up and enjoy the fun!!

Down at the Golden Gate Park at the Harbor there is a bird/duck sanctuary that I always enjoy visiting and I've been there a lot during the lovely weather we have had lately. One of the things that never ceases to amaze me is the watery reflections that make each photo look like an Impressionist painting. I've posted a few of these on Shadow Shot and Weekend Reflections, but I thought I would share some more of them here today. I hope you enjoy them!

Love my upside down friend!

Be like a duck. Calm on the surface, but always paddling like the dickens underneath. Michael Caine

If you keep your feathers well oiled the water of criticism will run off as from a duck's back.
Ellen Henrietta Swallow Richards

And I heard one duck say to the other, "Do you think my butt looks too big?"

I adore ducks and used to live on an island in the Grand Union Canal and right outside my windows were the lives of ducks, geese and Swans. It was a very special time for me. Now I walk along the Thames to to chat to the ducks and Swans. Special. Love your pics.

I live in the city and seldom see ducks at my place except for the story books when I was little or the biology book which I am studying now. :-)

Love the picture with a pair of ducks the most. All of the shots are so calming and beautiful. Wish I could be there now.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
